Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Enrolment in the Training & Placement Cell

The Training & Placement Cell at SSBES Institute of Technology and Management is dedicated to helping students secure internships, training, and job placements. To ensure that students are well-prepared for the recruitment process and can make the most of the opportunities provided, the following minimum eligibility criteria are set for enrolment:

1. Academic Eligibility:

  • Enrollment Status: Students must be currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program at SSBES Institute of Technology and Management.
  • Minimum CGPA or Percentage:
    • For Undergraduate Students: A minimum CGPA of 6.0 (or equivalent percentage) is required for eligibility. This may vary based on specific recruitment criteria set by the companies.
    • For Postgraduate Students: A minimum CGPA of 6.0 or 60% aggregate marks in the previous academic years is typically required, though this may vary depending on the companies’ hiring preferences.
  • No Pending Backlogs:Students must have no backlogs (failed subjects) in their current academic year. Students must clear any pending backlogs before the commencement of the placement season.

2. Year of Study:

  • Final Year Students:Enrollment is mandatory for final-year students (typically 4th year for undergraduate students, 2nd year for postgraduate students) who are seeking placement assistance.
  • Pre-Final Year Students: Pre-final year students (3rd year for undergraduate programs) are also encouraged to enroll, as they may be considered for internships, skill development workshops, and other preparatory activities organized by the Training & Placement Cell.

3. Attendance Criteria:

  • Minimum Attendance::Students must have a minimum attendance of 75% in their academic sessions (subject to institute policy). This ensures that students are engaged in their studies and are well-prepared for recruitment activities.

4. Skills and Preparation:

  • Soft Skills and Professional Development: Students should have demonstrated basic proficiency in essential soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and time management. The Training & Placement Cell may require students to attend soft skills development workshops to improve their communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Technical Skills: Students must show a basic understanding of the technical skills relevant to their discipline (such as programming languages, engineering concepts, or industry-specific tools). The Training & Placement Cell may conduct pre-placement training to ensure that students are industry-ready.

5. Resume and Profile:

  • Updated Resume: Students must submit an updated, professional resume to the Training & Placement Cell, highlighting their academic achievements, skills, internships, projects, and extracurricular activities.
  • LinkedIn Profile: Having a professional LinkedIn profile is encouraged, as many recruiters use LinkedIn for screening and connecting with candidates.

6. Placement Activity Participation:

  • Active Participation in Placement Activities: Students must actively engage in all placement-related activities, such as:
    • Pre-placement Talks
    • Mock Interviews
    • Group Discussions
    • Workshops on resume writing, interview preparation, and career planning
    • Recruitment Drives
  • Failure to attend scheduled placement activities without a valid reason may affect eligibility for further placement assistance.

7. Adherence to Placement Policies:

  • Compliance with Training & Placement Cell Policies: Students must agree to follow the policies outlined by the Training & Placement Cell, which include:
    • Respecting the timeline for accepting job offers.
    • Attending scheduled interviews or recruitment events.
    • Not applying to multiple companies simultaneously if exclusivity is required by the recruiters.
    • Abiding by the rules regarding job offers, including timely acceptance or rejection.

8 . Relocation Willingness (If Applicable):

  • Willingness to Relocate: Some recruitment opportunities may require candidates to relocate to different cities or even countries. Students must indicate their willingness to relocate for the job opportunities available through the Training & Placement Cell.
  • The Training & Placement Cell will inform students about such criteria well in advance and assist them in meeting the requirements, if necessary.

The minimum eligibility criteria for enrollment in the Training & Placement Cell at SSBES Institute of Technology and Management are designed to ensure that students are academically prepared, skillful, and professional enough to be successful in the competitive job market.
